Every effort is made to find an historical area that has seen activity in the past, but please note that finds are not guaranteed! Rest assured that the land will not be "seeded" with coins or artifacts bought from coin or artifact dealers. Every effort will be made to ensure the best conditions for detecting, although again this cannot be guaranteed.
A full refund will only be given if the event has to be cancelled due to insufficient tickets being sold. We expect all metal detectorists to abide by the National Council of Metal Detecting code of conduct, filling in all holes dug and ensuring that all rubbish is removed and placed in the bins provided (anyone flouting these rules will be asked to leave the event with no refund given). It is also requested that all detectorists wear a rubbish or finds pouch.
In the event of any hoards of coins or artifacts turning up, that are deemed by law to be classed as treasure, Free Time Promotions Ltd expects the finder to act in a responsible manner and report the find. The finder is expected not only to declare the hoard to the local authorities but also to the farmer, who will be entitled to 50% of any award given.
Free Time Promotions Ltd will not tolerate any night hawking and will be patrolling the event fields and surrounding areas at night with night vision equipment. Anyone caught night hawking will be reported to the police and excluded from the event with a life time ban on all future Free Time Promotion events.
All metal detecting on the event fields must cease by 22:00 hours in the evening, untill 10:00 hours the following morning. The event gates will be monitored at all times. Anyone not being able to show on request, either a booking ticket or wrist-band (issued on arrival) will be asked to leave the event.
